Since it's been sitting for more than I week, I closed out to spur further discussion or moving on. Either works for me :-)

Free, as in FREEDOM (Libre ~;-)

The acronyms, according to Richard Stallman of the Free Software Foundation, would be FLOSS and FOSS. Do see:

The true issue title needs to be: Switch OSS -> FLOSS

Perhaps, but I'm not sure we actually mean that in all cases. In any case, this branch is out of date and things haven't changed.
