Description

This ticket aims to outline the tasks and objectives for creating a proof of concept (POC) project focused on conversational commerce leveraging chatbot and voice-driven commerce technologies. The goal of this POC is to demonstrate the feasibility and potential of integrating chatbot and voice interfaces into e-commerce platforms to enhance user experience and drive sales.

ONDC’s Open network provides various services in multiple domains such as ecommerce, education, finance, agriculture, etc. The buyer side app currently serves as the medium to access these services. This POC aims to make this buyer app more conversational using conversational ways of interacting and procuring such services.

Key design-research questions

  1. What are the critical elements of a seamless and intuitive conversational user interface (CUI)?
  2. How can the chatbot and voice-driven interactions be designed to provide a personalized and engaging experience for users
  3. What security measures need to be implemented to safeguard sensitive information transmitted through chatbot and voice interactions?
  4. How can the conversational commerce interfaces be designed to be accessible to users with disabilities, including those with visual or motor impairments?

Current State

Current buyer apps provides traditional ways for searching and buying services/products, which are limited to keyboard and basic voice inputs.

Desired State

We aim to make buyer app more interactive by adding voice based interaction and buying, Chatbot that helps consumer with end to end discovery and procurement of services/products with minimum inputs from the consumers.

Goals & Mid-Point Milestone

  1. Completion of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) Prototype

Acceptance Criteria

  1. Functional chatbot and voice-driven commerce interfaces integrated with the e-commerce platform.
  2. Basic features implemented, including product search, recommendations, and order placement.
  3. Initial user testing and feedback collected to identify areas for improvement and refinement.
  4. Demonstration of MVP prototype to stakeholders for validation and feedback.
