Description

This assignment addresses the development of an AI-powered application aimed at increasing engagement and conversion rates among farmers and frontline environmental workers (FLEWs), who are generally not very technical.

The application provides functionalities such as query resolution, direct communication with authorities, and task tracking. Initial feedback indicates only 20% of users are providing feedback, with an active engagement rate of 40%. This project focuses on improving these metrics by enhancing user experience and app functionality.

Key design-research questions

1. What are the main barriers preventing higher user engagement and feedback within the app?
2. How can the app's interface be optimized to accommodate the specific needs of non-technical users?
3. What additional features or incentives might increase user interaction and regular use of the app?
4. How can we effectively measure the increase in user engagement and satisfaction?

Current State

The current state is a bot in telegram, so there are limitations in order to achieve success. The current state of the app shows a 20% feedback rate and 40% active engagement among users. In need of intuitive design for non-technical users, potentially insufficient user education on the app’s benefits, and a lack of compelling features to promote daily usage.

Desired State

The roadmap for the app involves several enhancements tailored to the user base:

• A redesigned user interface that simplifies navigation and interaction for non-technical users.
• The introduction of gamification elements to make daily interactions more engaging.
• Features like personalized advice, weather updates, and market trends relevant to agriculture.
• Expected goals include achieving over 60-70% active engagement and increasing the feedback rate to at least 50%.

Goals & Mid-Point Milestone

Goal 1: Redesign the app interface to improve usability for non-technical users. Goal 2: Implement gamification features to encourage daily usage. Goal 3: Integrate personalized agricultural insights and real-time data features. Goal 4: Conduct user training sessions and open forums to increase app familiarity and perceived value. Goal 5: Complete the interface redesign and launch the beta version of the new features for initial user feedback.

Acceptance Criteria

1. At least 60% of active users should use the app daily.
2. Feedback from users should increase to 50%.
3. User satisfaction rates, measured through surveys and app analytics, should show a minimum of 30% improvement.
4. Reduction in support queries due to improved usability, with a targeted drop of 25%.
