Thanks to Library of Virginia, Virginian-Pilot and Code4HR we have an 800MB JSON document of emails sent by and to the Governor of Virginia under the Kaine Administration.
The purpose of obtaining this open government data is to analyze its contents from a variety of perspectives, inuding but not limited to:
link analysis
subject matter
dates and times
frequency and distribution
By forming an analytic layer above the raw data we can publish an API of interesting results. Using data returned by such an API we can make beautiful visualization that tell meaningful stories.
