Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
NOTE: PROVIDE AS MANY DETAILS AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. We can't read your mind
or your computer's.

What did the Exception Report say (if this was on Windows)? Include Fault
Executable Name and Offset.

Nothing. The exception report never appears.

What steps will reproduce the problem? If this happened in a command line
program, GIVE US THE COMMAND LINE ARGUMENTS YOU USED!
1. Install OS.
2. Install v1.09 patch.
3. Run haloce.exe

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I can briefly see a window form, which immediately closes followed by
Exception! Gathering exception data...
But the exception report never comes, the exception window disappears.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

OS 3.0, Windows 8 Pro (same error occurs on Windows 7 Ultimate)

Please provide any additional information below. E.g. PC specs

CPU: Genuine Intel @ 1.60GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 3 GB of RAM
Video: Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset (GMA 3100) 256 MB

Why are you installing OS -before- installing the 1.09 update?

Also, the current version of OS is 3.0.3.

Windows 7 and later have the exception details stored somewhere in the Action
Center, under Problems and Reports if I recall correctly.

You didn't answer the first part of my reply: why were you running/installing
the 1.09 update -after- you installed OS?

Looks like issue 45 (Crash when using an integrated GFX chip that doesn't
support hardware transforms), which should be fixed in 3.1 (revision
15209e0ef7c4027ae1463321294ea1e661718253 (329))

Kornman: I was using 1.8, I don't play online so I never bothered to update
until I saw that it was a requisite for OS.
FireScythe: Thanks... does this mean I have to build OS from the source?

The next release of OS is scheduled for the Jan 20th so if you can wait a
couple more days that should set you right.
