Title:
Introducing TypeDB - A strongly-typed database
What your talk is about:
TypeDB is an entirely new kind of database that brings together schemas, relations, and reasoning while doing away with the shortcomings of traditional databases. It's open-source and has advanced features that mean it's superior to the SQL-type relational databases that most devs are familiar with, and shares features with graph databases as well. We hope this talk will be of interest to people interested in using the newest tech and to people who are interested in computer science fundamentals.
Here's an abstract:
In this talk, we'll explain the core concepts behind TypeDB: strong typing, inference and pattern matching. We'll begin with modeling data as entities, relations and attributes (like ER diagrams). Next, we'll explain how to find data by expressing what it looks like with composable patterns. And finally, we'll show how rules can be used to infer data that doesn't physically exist.
You’ll learn more about:
Using strong typing in a database
Modeling and querying interconnected data
Inferring data with automated reasoning
