Maybe it is worth adding the option to hide or remove the house limit, so as not to confuse the player?

that definitely is something to consider. i might make it so if you set the max homes to 0 it removes the limit (though currently i'm not actively working on my mods, so it might take a month or so for me to implement it :P )
