Slider suddenly not loading #342

I have been using the same slider for several months. For some reason all of the sudden it doesn't work. It tries to load pics at the beginning, but then just shows the loading circle. There is no update that I found to the plugin. HELP!!

This just happened to me. Check what version of jQuery your theme uses. Mine just had a call for "latest", and now latest has become 1.9, which breaks Nivo slider.

Either update Nivo (manually, the code) or edit your theme's files (probably functions.php) to call an older, specific version of jQuery. I changed mine to 1.8.1.

A Nivo Slider came with a theme I purchased (responsive HTML, not Wordpress)—I know just enough HTML to get myself in trouble, but not enough to troubleshoot effectively!

The slider images won't load on my live site. They work perfectly when I preview from my local drive. Any idea what's going on?
