7 years ago I think the most important is to see where outlines occur, but no real interaction is connected. E.g. around the entire container of a dojo when opened. Only the purple arrow closes the panel.
Another example is around a user, it already has visual queues with changing background colors so the outline is pretty much overkill:
Outlines are important for a11y, so users who are tabbing through the site know what elements they're interacting with.
On the other hand, they're often ugly when they appear on things other than links, buttons and inputs.
The purpose of this issue is to review these instances where we can perhaps replace the outline with other visual cues that the element is in focus. Any suggestions are very much welcomed.
