"Send Email" function not working in manage Dojos (or filter export) #1276

Hi there, Amy (amy@coderdojo.org) spotted some issues when managing our Dojo, Docklands Dojo (https://zen.coderdojo.com/dojos/ie/dublin/dublin/dublin-docklands-chq).

When we tried to send an email to our volunteers in the manage users section using the "Send Emails" function on the bottom right, it looked like it had worked (insofar as there is no way to see if it did or didn't - but no error message showed up), but the email never sent (none of us received the email despite being volunteers (even when we checked our email digest, and no replies came back).

This is separate to the automatic email sent when a new event is published. That email did send.

In addition when we tried to manually send the email to volunteers by filtering and exporting the CSV, even though we had filtered by "volunteer/mentor" it exported all our users including parents and attendees... in the csv it also listed our mentors as "parents/guardians" as opposed to mentors, so then we had to manually pick out the volunteers in the csv by comparing the list with the names of people on the manage users section...ie. very time consuming.

Ideally:

Thank you.

For point 2), I'm pretty sure we never actually filtered them for export from the "Manage club users" interface. The only export having filtering is related to the event, not the club. Though, I agree, it would be handy

^ Issue also happens in relation to exporting specific event attendee info as a csv, not just exporting Dojo csv:

I’ve always used the event platform for tickets to my Dojo. I need a list of adult attendees for security purposes, and the simple UI doesn’t do that, so I followed the link to the old way to do it. However, when I go to Book, the “adult” ticket option doesn’t show up. Is this supposed to work and just a bug or can I no longer do this through the zen? <- From Ruth (Community member)

If I export a csv of all the people attending my next event, it should have all the kids tickets booked in, and the parent linked to that child. However, I checked this on a recent Docklands Dojo event and it just exports the kids and mentors. No info on parents. https://files.slack.com/files-pri/T0650R0NQ-FQVRHPMB7/screenshot_2019-11-22_at_17.01.42.png <- link to image illustrating

Vanessa also flagged on Slack on October 17th: I’ve been looking into a question from a Dojo who are having trouble emailing attendees of their events as they only issue youth tickets and no parent tickets. They’ve been exporting the csv to test it out and ninjas don’t have an email attached as most are under 13. Naturally, I’ve tested it out to understand it and on a Dojo user export I can see the parent email on the Dojo export but not on a event export for a 5 yr old. So my question is why isn’t the parent email pulled on the ticked if the child user is under 13?
