Get order where date created is after specific date

Hello, I'm trying to get orders after a specific date, for example i have written code like below:

     $date = '2023-05-20T11:51:09';
        $orders = WooOrder::where('date_created', '>=', $date)->get();

This doesn't seem to work, it just grabs the 10 most recent orders.
