Thanks @Cindywangtelanoff. This all makes sense to me intuitively but I need to find a way to test it to walk through in more detail. Anyone have recommendations on how to do this? We can discuss tomorrow.

@Cindywangtelanoff Do a fresh pull of dashboard-pg and add your changes directly to that branch.
