Christmas Coding Challenge 2017 (Falling Snow) #744

I was watching something the other day and it had a dark night sky with snow falling. It reminded me of the star field coding challenge that you did, except in this case it was particles falling down, with parallax etc. I thought it would make a great return to form and a nice Christmas Coding Challenge to maybe try and replicate snow falling with the following in mind:

I'm sure you could come up with loads of other options and tweaks, but yeah, I think something like that would really be appreciated by the fans. I do miss the more graphical and creative coding challenges you did so interjecting the odd one like this to match a holiday theme would be great.

This could be a really short one, because it's actually pretty similar to the purple rain tutorial. I modified that a few days ago, I almost got the code down to two tweets in length. I just replaced the purple lines with snow flake images, decreased the speed and gravity and added an x-offset with random noise. That was my very second project in Processing... What I'd like to see is the snow flakes falling through a 3D-flowfield. I didn't manage to get that to work.
