[BUG]: Can't get GEVI to work... #280

Describe the bug:

I never got the GEVI to work (I would like GEVI to work as it is way better database than many others). Only gayDVDempire and AEBN work so far....

Hi XanderKwan

Ensure you are using the latest version of the plugins by downloading them from the repository

The log files are located in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs\PMS Plugin Logs, if you are using Windows.

Once you have located your logs, delete them all.

Then Load plex

Ensure you have selected GEVI in the agents list - preferably just GEVI...

Find a Film you know is on Plex that should scrape correctly.

Right Click and Choose Refresh Metadata - for this film only.

Go back to the Logs Folder and attach the GEVI log to your next message.

We can then look into the reason why GEVI is not scraping.

Thank you Jason, I'm using Mac. Where can I find the log file for Mac? Note that, I've been using this plug in for about a year now but never got GEVI to work. The only two that work for me are gayDVDempire and AEBN. I already downloaded the latest version and put them in the plugin folder. Thank you again! :)

They should here ~/Library/Logs/Plex Media Server/PMS Plugin Logs/

I named my file like this (TitanMen) - ManPlay 1 (2001).mp4

From looking at the log, it looks like you have not set your preferences for GEVI correctly....

Some of your collection preferences default to false yet the genre collection is set as NO. Also your machine ID and plex token dont get set...

I need to look at the false/no a bit closely as they should either be false/true or yes/no values...

But that is your reason...

Go to your settings then agents, theb GayAdult fims and GEVI... click on its gear...

Click on each setting, if false set to true and vice versa then save... then quit plex, remord plex and now set the preferences to how you want them, save and then most importantly QUIT plex media server, and reload it...

Check your settings for GEVI and see your new settings have taken effect and compare to another agent that is working like AEBN..

To get the plex token, follow the instruction in the settings... Cody has written about this before, check the instructions...

Also look at an agent that is working, you may have set it for them...

But first i would delete the GEVI plugin, restart plex. Then download the latest version and reinstall it before setting it up again... Making sure to then quite and restart the server...

I have 3 log files created today. This is the last one created. com.plexapp.agents.GEVI.log

Your log, is a version or 2 behind. Cody should have or will soon be uploadinh v.50

If you look at this

You need to put this token in your settings as it can not seem to get this automatically.

Here is how to get your token: Finding an authentication token / X-Plex-Token | Plex Support https://support.plex.tv/articles/204059436-finding-an-authentication-token-x-plex-token/

insert this token into your GEVI preferences

Can you send the log for a film scraped by AEBN - so we can check if step 10 fails - in regards to the Plex Token

This would be another film as Manplay 1 is a different name on AEBN...

Also a screenshot of when you click VIEW XML when you look at a Films info.... Click on the three dots located on the lower right of a film in plex... Jason

Insert this in your GEVI agent settings, then restart plex media server.... Are the other agents working like AEBN?

I got it to work finally. I unchecked the first 2 boxes in the setting so it won't check film length agains the sources. I found that it failed the duration test... Thank you again Jason!!! Big hugs!

You are a star... That was well strange... hence the suggestion of deleting and reinstalling Gevi...

Though I don't understand why the film length should affect it...

Scrape a movie and send me the logs...

Jason, this is from the old log when it failed to match. You can see it failed the Comparison Duration Test. So I assumed the agent must check film duration against the GEVI. But I can't see anywhere in GEVI that show film length!...

I need a current one that is working now.... a GEVI and an AEBN one if possible...

The duration should have not stopped the scrapping... can you check if you have this disabled for AEBN??

AEBN works even when I check "Match against IAFD's recorded film/scene length" but uncheck "Match against Site's recorded film/scene length"... Here are the two logs: com.plexapp.agents.GEVI.log com.plexapp.agents.AEBNiii.log

FWIW, I have the duration check disabled on all my agents. I find that there's a lot of variation in the older movies I have and it often prevents a match.
