The zipped version also doesn't work.

Can you post the version of gSwitch you tried to install and your version of macOS?

It seems like apple has changed the wording on this error message a bit but the answer is in the FAQ:

You need to allow the application to run in Settings -> Security & Privacy and allow software from third party developers to run.

I do not pay apple 99 dollars a year to notarize the software so they show this over the top message.

jdeluyck commented 4 years ago

@CodySchrank Unfortunately this is enabled "Allow apps downloaded from app store & identified developers".

Also, with Catalina apps will require to be notarized. https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=09032019a

Apple has been claiming this for a while. I just updated to the new version of macos and uninstalled and reinstalled and saw the same message. I was still able to get around it though. When you try to open gswitch it should fail. If you go to the security menu you should see "open this app anyway" in security and privacy -> general if you have "Allow apps downloaded from app store & identified developers" selected. Then it will open.

No such thing, I'm afraid.
