Things that are good to watch for:

• rendering features
  • advanced shadows
  • reflections, refractions
  • generally amazing lighting (AO, GI, etc)
• interactivity
  • interesting UI's
  • novel character controls
  • perspective changes and blends (1st vs 3rd vs....?)
• multi-user solutions, gameplay
• audio wonders
• time distortion gags
