I believe this is because you are using SSE build flags but we're using SSE2 optimization in the stress test. SSE only CPUs date back to Streaming SIMD Extensions (Pentium III, Athlon 4/XP/MP) where as SSE2 was introduced in Pentium 4. Is there a need for just SSE in your build?
But how is that possible? Since the users CPU, i7 (!), is a modern one and CFLAGS are pretty simple, how only SSE could be used? Bug in -march=native
? I currently don't see, where SSE only (instead of SSE2) does come from?
I think I need to install the OS and tool chain you are using to debug this further to understand the issue and a workaround. I'm a bit pushed for time this week, so I'll try and get this sorted by end-of-week.
I've pushed a fix that adds more build time checks to see if optimization options are supported by gcc, this may fix the issue.
Hi! Your commit did help! After applying by the user, he was able to compile.
For reference, this are the options, which where set by his -march=native
. I don't see any disabled SSE2?

Thanks for the information. I never anticipated this kind of build configuration, so I'm pleased it's being exercised by these build options and these issues are being reported. Thanks again. I'll close this bug report if that's OK.
Yep, that's fine for me. Thanks!
A user reported the following compile error for version 0.11.19: CPU="Intel Core i7-6850K" CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=native"
