A real-time privacy-first social media platform leveraging feature-rich direct messaging text channels. Built as part of the course project for COSC 310 at UBC.
Modified the update-chat-history endpoint to support user IDs rather than usernames under the owner field
Removed ServerList from the application shell due to servers being removed from our requirements list. Additionally, ServerList cannot be included within the application shell as it crashes the whole application due to the extensive number of errors within that file. It is extremely poorly written and needs significant refactoring. However, it is likely that we will not be including this component as part of the final deliverable given the change in requirements
Added 2 logos of our application (in case we intend to use them anywhere in the future)
Visual Summary of Changes
The UI needs significant revision. The icons are not horizontally aligned and it looks like you are creating a large modal within the sidebar rather than having it appear in the center of the screen.
Appearance when the "plus" icon is clicked
Next Steps
The right sidebar may be allocated towards storing friend requests. As of now, the friend request feature is being implemented as a button that displays a dropdown of friend requests when clicked (which is fine as is), but this may be migrated to be within the right sidebar
