block apps from seeing root #19

blocking apps from access to su would be a nice addition

CollegeDev commented 9 years ago

Do you really think that it is necessary? I mean applications just like SuperSU are excellent (please don't misunderstand me, I just want to figure out why you need a feature like this). If you would like you can provide some arguments for this :-)

mnjm97 commented 9 years ago

superuser app works great for su prevention but my intent was more for preventing apps from running sh etc... as well as preventing apps from even knowing the device is rooted.

mnjm97 commented 9 years ago

plus...some apps refuse to run if device is found to have root.

I see what you mean. Did you take a look at RootCloak? It is possible to do something like that, but it is not on my "high-priority" list.

Detecting root is done in many ways, and some apps do it with completely general methods and calls, so for DG to provide this feature for apps in general (cloaking root needs to be targeted towards specific apps to have a shot) is close to impossible.

Also, I find it well outside the scope of this app. DG manages permissions given to apps, not what hey do with them.

Kind Regards TwinAdk
