Maps game controller physical buttonsto virtual outputs that can be tuned for an optimal in-sim experience. Outputs can be virtual axes, or vitual buttons. A typical use would be mapping your Sptifire Mk IX elevator trim wheel to a single virutal axis that you use in sim. What's more, you can tune the sensitivity of the axis to aproximate the correct turn rate of the trim wheel in sim.

Just Flight Arrows Trim Issues #14

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but have set up the vjoy with the MSFS stock planes and the Just Flight Piper Warrior, works flawlessly. However when using the Just Flight Piper Arrow and Turbo Arrow, using the same settings as for the others, the trim will only move from neutral to full nose down, winding the trim wheel in reverse from that point towards nose up, it stops at neutral. I've found it impossible to get any nose up trim at all, which I just cant understand. Have followed Mark's excellent video on Simhanger to the letter. Congratulations on a fantastic product, so if any help with this could be provided I'd be very grateful.

Hi Peter, hmm that sounds like something simulator related rather than anything I could control in the software. I'll try to help nonetheless!

My suspicion would point to the elevator trim axis assignment in msfs. Can you double check its assigned to "(-100% to 100)" and not "(0 to 100%)"?

Let me know how you get on,

Hi Ian,

Thank you so much for offering to help, yes the axis is set as -100% to 100. I use the same profile for all the other planes and it works a treat. When I change to plane to the Just Flight Arrows, using the same vjoy profile, the problem appears, strange. It’s fine with the Warrior.

Best regards,

Peter

Hi Peter, no problem. It's definitely a strange one. If I get chance after work I'll have a go myself as I have the Just Flight Arrows as well. I'll let you know what I find. Cheers, Ian

Hi Ian, will be interesting to see what you find, weird how the trim tab stops at dead centre, when looking at the tab on the elevator and the indicator in the cockpit. In the controls set up menu, the visual slider goes all the way from min to max, mirroring the bravo trim wheel, proving the trim wheel is giving full scale deflection, just not outputting this to the trim tab.

Best regards buddy,

Peter

Hi Peter, sorry for the extremely delayed response. I get full and free deflection with the Arrow and other aircraft without changing any settings. It might have been that they've updated it since and it works now. In the screenshot i posted above. If you're seeing the white axis line move from empty to full in the contol assignments window then the software is doing everything right. There's nothing else I can think of to help I'm afriad. If you're still really stuck it would be worth following this excellent guide from SimHanger Flight Simulation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sx6KJ0dEtus

All the best,

Ian
