When processing ESI mass spectra, the spectra editor shows a lot of icons highlighted in red in the attached figure which are not available (greyed out) since they - at least partially - do not apply to this analysis technique (here, for example multiple peak assignment from NMR).
For others, like the peak picking, it is unclear why they are not available in "MS mode" although it might be useful to individually pick certain peaks which are below an otherwise applied general threshold.
For each analysis technique, it would be highly desireable if only those icons are shown which can actually also be applied to the particular spectrum while the others should be hidden/removed from display.
As the program knows which icons to grey out it should be possible to simply not show at all instead to avoid confusion
