Supplier Content Filter #5

Feature name

Epic Spec:

Introduction We have decided that on the supplier pages our initial PIA will be a "Follow" rather than a "Favourite", as we have the build already in place for the social element.

Selecting to "follow" a supplier will then enable that supplier to contact the user with their content.

This feature is to facilitate the placement of that content on the user's dashboard.

What problem is this feature request related to? A buyer is interested in a supplier but does not want to make contact/purchase just yet, they want to keep the supplier in mind & not forget about them.

The solution When a buyer logs into their dashboard, they will see content from suppliers that they have favourited.

Product Requirements

  1. The format for this content should follow a similar one to the "new supplier category filter", however, some slight design changes could assist in differentiating this section for the user.

  2. If feasible, a buyer should be able to interact with the content via either a "like/heart" button or by commenting.

  3. If feasible, we should be able to track and log which content users click on, even if they do not interact. This will give us data for analytics, and data to pass to suppliers for value quantification.

Design Requirements To be discussed & wireframed - potentially limited to the design features of WP plugins.

The follow/unfollow plugin previously demonstrated can also show lists of selected suppliers on the buyers hompage, complete with links. This was working fine until a week ago and I am trying to get response from plugin developer regarding problem. As it's a free plugin the response time for support issues is variable.

If the issue cannot be resolved direct we can outsource some dev work to fix the problem or use an alternative plugin.

Resolved plugin issue, new supplier pages need to go live before we can test, this needs a call with all suppliers (In case of suppliers will not agree to samples for example).

Supplier content delivery now not possible, reverting back to "favourite" rather than "follow" functionality.

Functionality built, awaiting live pages for testing
