Purchase Indidcation Action: Follow Supplier

Epic Spec:

Introduction This is a move from the initial MVP suggestion of keeping the 1st PIA as "Favourite". The reason for this is as follows:

  1. This is a social/content enabling feature that will allow a follow-up action from a supplier. E.g. new product information, are new deals/offers.

  2. We believe that the majority of this functionality has already been built and therefore will take little time to add.

3, It will add additional value to the discovery journey

What problem is this feature request related to? A buyer is interested in a supplier but does not want to make contact/purchase just yet, they want to keep the supplier in mind & not forget about them.

The solution A follow PIA that enables the supplier's content to be delivered to the buyer, whilst also keeping a list of followed suppliers to hand on the dashboard.

Product Requirements

  1. There should be a follow button somewhere at the top of the supplier page

  2. When the button is clicked the "follow" button should change to "following" or "unfollow".

  3. When the follow button is clicked a pop up should appear telling the user what this has achieved:

    • E.g. "Thanks, you can now find us on your favourite list, and see updates about our products and special offers."

Design Requirements To be discussed & wireframed - potentially limited to the design features of WP plugins.

The follow/unfollow plugin previously demonstrated can also show lists of selected suppliers on the buyers hompage, complete with links. This was working fine until a week ago and I am trying to get response from plugin developer regarding problem. As it's a free plugin the response time for support issues is variable.

If the issue cannot be resolved direct we can outsource some dev work to fix the problem or use an alternative plugin.
