maybe a template or even a jsfiddle if possible that gets visitors up and running quickly with how to add to the hero world

We definitely will need this! Right now we're building out a set of standalone examples that demonstrate various features the Hero Engine will have. Once we have a good set of examples, we'll pull all those features together. Once that the Hero Engine is available in that integrated form, I expect we'll make video tutorials in addition to traditional documentation about how to create rooms, etc.

If I may suggest, even drawn pictures/GIFS are good placeholders in the meantime.
