[x] We should review our plugins and remove the ones we do not need any more. Some of them could be re-written in a more modern and well documented way.
[ ] We should "Valgrind" all our plugins.

Great idea. :+1: What do you mean by more modern?

"More modern": we should avoid writing user-defined kernels if we can, e.g. use a general reduce function.

@psychocoderHPC removed a lot in #773 , doing an other maintenance round in the future and valgrind-ing them is still a good idea.
