Currently I am using ConnectSDK open framework to develop applications on iOS.

But when I submitted my application to the Apple Review, I received rejected with the following content:

Guideline 5.2.1 - Legal - Intellectual Property

Your app includes content or features from LG, or is marketed to control external hardware from LG, without the necessary authorization. The inclusion of third-party content within your app, whether retrieved from the internet by the app or embedded in the app, is subject to the terms of the Apple Developer Program License Agreement.

Your app and its contents should not infringe upon the rights of another party. In the event your app infringes another party’s rights, you are responsible for any liability to Apple because of a claim.

Next Steps

To resolve this issue, please attach documentary evidence in the App Review Information section in App Store Connect. In accordance with section 3.2(f) of the Apple Developer Program License Agreement, you acknowledge that submitting falsified or fraudulent documentation can result in the termination of your Apple Developer Program account and the removal of your apps from the App Store. Once Legal has reviewed your documentation and confirms its validity, we will proceed with the review of your app.

Alternatively, please remove the third-party content from your app and its metadata.

Let me ask, how do I authorize my app to access and control LG TV and how will the Apple Review Team approve my app?

Thank you.

Has anyone tried pointing Apple at the docs? https://connectsdk.readthedocs.io/en/latest/discover/overview.html The docs clearly state that "Connect SDK is an open source framework that connects your mobile apps with multiple TV platforms."

The Copyright / Website Information (https://connectsdk.readthedocs.io/en/latest/terms-and-conditions.html#copyright-website-information) states "This website is owned and operated by Zenith Electronics LLC (“Zenith”)through its LG Silicon Valley Lab Division."

Zenith Electronics LLC is owned by LG Electronics (https://zenith.com/). "A wholly owned subsidiary of global innovator LG Electronics since 1999..."

The licences for all the components of ConnectSDK are Apache2.0 (http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0) which freely allows Commercial use, Modification, Distribution, Patent use and Private use. Only Trademark use is excluded along with any liability and warranty with respect to LG.

This shouldn't be an issue... Unless your app name or description(s) reference LG. That I can see Apple and LG potentially having a problem with.
