1st Place - 20 ETH 2nd Place - 10 ETH 3rd Place* - 5 ETH

Note - 3rd place is conditionally awarded, determined by # of entries and quality of projects.

Breaking News

In this challenge, we want you to rewrite the rules on how we experience media online. Content is being presented to us in new ways, faster than we understand the technology behind it, and we continue to not know how to navigate our own understanding of reputation and the accuracy of information. When was the last time you looked at the source material of a news story? We believe there is an opportunity to produce a clearer form of credentialing and signaling.

Web3 is uniquely positioned to create a healthier media landscape through transparency, incentives, identity, and reputation. We leave it to you to design the new conditions for trust in media, and offer the following provocations as a place to get started:

Hey my real name is Joseph Kamau, I spent my weekend looking through other participant projects. They are all super awesome ideas. In as much i would like to participate in other Teams, I wish to also another post a plan that i started this weekend. It is in my repository https://github.com/pistolla/kwanta-media. It is a solution that can be scaled into a larger project but also has specific objectives achievable in this hackathon. The project is called Kwanta and the #OBJECTIVE Develop a dapp that maintains a list of media urls using ERC-20 tokens to manage, track and verify sources, References and comments on Ethereum testnet network. The dapp continuously verifies credibility of sources and rewards author if its credible or deducts author for any Disinformation.

WORKPLAN

Create a Reactjs app to register media urls that are accessible publicly via URL Connect user to Ethereum network using Metamask Create an account where Ethereum user can seed any amount to one/many MediaUrls or withdraw ERC tokens in future but with a minimal network charges Store media urls and link them to Wallet Create a nodejs daemon that checks and verifies media content sources using a [private owned] cloud service that checks document credibility Reward tokens to mediaUrls that have credible sources Deduct tokens to MediaURls that have unverifiable sources

KINDLY, read more about on the README file hosted in github. Thank you 11) janmoomoo has started work.

I will create a real time decentralized Poll App to harness the wisdom of the crowd to gather accurate data. Anybody can make a polls, participate or view the results for their needed data, either for entertainment, educational, or research purposes

oh yes, ok....

vers10ne commented 4 years ago

hi @zherring @connoroday ... could the sponsor confirm please: I was thinking of putting forward a thought leadership-type paper .. Would this be fine?
This is what the topic seems to lend itself to ...

Hey @zherring, is this bounty requiring a complete full-stack solution, or just the ideating and research documents?

@uivlis - No full stack solution required. Research and validation is required and it needs to be technically feasible. Check out https://github.com/ConsenSys/Relays-Resources (near the bottom) for examples of previous winners and what they got through. Some deployed to MainNet, some had working prototypes of code, others had extremely compelling user research and SME advice.
