@maurelian started a PR for a new command that includes the importer. I think the importer could be its own PR, though. Happy to incorporate some of those changes here.

So, is this WIP or ready? Since the flag has been added, should it be implemented in the commands as well?

I think this is ready as is. I added the flag to all relevant commands just didn't enable it by default to make this backwards compatible. I think the behavior might not always be desirable if you're used to the old one.
