Area discrepancy on report for SDG 15 analysis #302

Open MLNoon opened 3 years ago

MLNoon commented 3 years ago

User gets different area numbers for the total area on her analysis. The shapefile and report are attached here. Looking at the report, the total area are not showing in the report, so I am not sure where the exact issue is occurring.

@gdaldegan can you look into this?

@azvoleff Monica shared this with me a little ago and I spent some time looking into this issue. I believe the differences in the total land area reported on the summary table is a consistent issue, not only happening when using the Credit River AOI. I checked several other summary tables from analysis I’ve ran previously and they all had the same issue on the SOC tab - total land area reported in the SOC tab is always bigger than the total land area for the other sub-indicators. I suspect that the reported area for SOC regards the footprint of the SoilGrid raster that encompasses the AOI polygon.
