Shorter email subject lines for GitHub issues? #608

It’s very hard to deal with a flood of email from standards-maintenance when every one of them has a subject line that starts with the same 50-plus characters:

Re: [ConsumerDataStandardsAustralia/standards-maintenance]

In most mail clients, the important part of the subject is invisible unless you open each email and who has time for that?

Can I suggest that the subject line of emails generated by the standards-maintenance GitHub forums be reconfigured so that the important info comes first, ie:

“#issue number issue title [ConsumerDataStandardsAustralia/standards-maintenance] “

I hope that is something that others find useful too (and that GitHub has that functionality!)

Is this configurable in GitHub?

If it is then I would love to make this change. I find it frustrating too.

Thanks @perlboy, I was disappointed when I got the dormant notification. Do you know how to get GitHub's attention? I don't have any information to add but don't want to give up by closing it!
