Other ideas:
We could also have different "tracks" depending on the desired role in the lab. E.g. for people who might work on Python packages, maybe they'd create a simple installable package. Or for people who work on MTurk, perhaps they'd implement an experiment in JsPsych and collect data from themselves using sandbox mode. Or for people working with fMRI/EEG/ECoG/eyetracking data, etc., maybe analyze some sample data in whatever formats they're likely to encounter (we could maintain a repo of sample datasets and propose some simple analyses...e.g. in Jupyter notebooks).
It'd also be cool to leverage this, if possible, into something productive (rather than solely being used for training). E.g. we could maintain a list of very simple tasks that could be both used for training and also leveraged in other projects to do useful stuff.
