You are mixing packages from defaults and conda-forge
channel, so this will lead to problems on specific packages that are compiled, like Qt
You need to reinstall spyder and notebook from defaults and not conda-forge
Thanks. So I am a total noob with conda, and mostly have been installing things:
In the listing above, I see three channels
Can you give me any more guidance or link me to some documentation on when it's safe or dangerous to use anaconda or conda-forge or the differences between them? Or should I always be sticking to defaults?
In general, you should use conda-forge or defaults, but not a mix.
Okay, thank you, I'll see what happens!
Actual Behavior
I installed the latest version of Anaconda (Anaconda3-5.2.0-Windows-x86_64.exe) yesterday, today I find that anaconda-navigator and spyder will not open.
That's trying to open them from the Start Menu as well as from a anaconda prompt. Python and iPython seem to work fine.
Expected Behavior
I should get various guis for Anaconda Navigator and Spyder
Steps to Reproduce
I can't tell you how to reproduce it. I can tell you that I didn't touch Anaconda much apart from using conda to install r-essentials as well install kernels for jupyter and flake8. The latter install ended up downgrading several packages.
Anaconda or Miniconda version:
Anaconda3-5.2.0-Windows-x86_64.exe
Operating System:
conda info
conda list --show-channel-urls
