We will be releasing 1.8.3 soon to fix the issue.
Please remember to update to the latest version of Navigator to include the latest fixes.
Open a terminal (on Linux or Mac) or the Anaconda Command Prompt (on windows) and type:
conda update conda
conda update anaconda-navigator
conda update navigator-updater

6 years ago Yesterday I updated everything with conda update --all
Now, I have the same issue with version 1.8.2. Going to Enviroment and clicking on Update Index button truly shows missing apps on the home screen.
However, a Spyder app doesn't run at all. It produces the following message:

I face the same issue. The problem started after a "conda clean". I tried the "update index", "conda update" and so on, but nothing works.

5 years ago This looks like a duplicate of https://github.com/ContinuumIO/anaconda-issues/issues/11103, but the conda versions involved here should be fixed. If you don't have the latest conda version (4.7.11) please try to update that.

5 years ago The only way we've been able to reproduce this is by disrupting the package cache that lives at ./Anaconda3/pkgs/cache which is immediately fixed if you run an update index. If anyone encounters this issue, please attempt the update index referenced above (https://github.com/ContinuumIO/anaconda-issues/issues/9025#issuecomment-377100940) and/or restarting navigator.
If the issue persists past that please provide as much information as possible

5 years ago Pressing Update index... and restarting anaconda navigator didn't solve the issue for me. But if I update the Jupyterlab component then everything is refreshed. weird

5 years ago I have this same problem. Have pressed Update Index and restarted Anaconda Navigator to no avail. Uninstalled & reinstalled with the same problem. Uninstalled 32-bit and installed 64-bit, same problem. Have Updated Index and re-opened after every step.

Can you also check to see if the package cache exists after running update-index? That should exist under the root of your Anaconda install at Anaconda3\pkgs\cache

5 years ago I have the same issue, tried all the codes in this blog, Jupyter not showing in the navigator however it was installed and can run it from the command window >>jupyter notebook. Refreshing the index did not work either.

4 years ago Installed anaconda3 from "Anaconda3-2019.07-Linux-x86_64.sh" in a Ubuntu 18 VM (installed via ubuntu-18.04-desktop-amd64.iso). The first start showed only VScode [install] even though I expected to see all the links as already stated above. But adding a proxy to .condarc resolved the issue. It seems anaconda requires an internet connection to work at all and since I am behind a company proxy...

su root
chown -R YourName /home/YourName/.conda
chown -R YourName /home/YourName/anaconda3
chown -R YourName /home/YourName/.anaconda
su YourName
conda update conda
conda update anaconda-navigator

2 years ago Did not work for me on latest navigator. Opened new issue with all the info #13014
After RStudio installation, Anaconda Navigator shows only VSCode on Home page. Previously I had RStudio, Jupyter, qtconsole, Spyder and others.
