🐛 Changes to the Basket | 10.26.4 #10

📝 I read the build notes for version 10.26.3, and I know that you exaggerated the effect to demonstrate. Thank you for doing that, but it's definitely not necessary and implementing features as intended is easiest (with the most preferred option being that you simply include what is malleable in the build notes, i.e. the lag can be changed to be more snappier or more smoother). Or if you exaggerate the effect, consider adding a way to revert it to normal so that I can tell if you know what we're trying to go for. Thank you in advance!

🐛 We want the hitbox to be a bit taller and wider then the actual basket sprite to make the gameplay more forgiving and to put more emphasis on rewarding player decision rather then player accuracy. I'd suggest a spherical/oval shape so that catching an object is tied directly to a specific radius (doing a cube). Also, it should be a bit wider and longer than a falling food, like in the Scratch MVP. For reference, here is the size of the hitbox compared to a falling object in the MVP.

So should I try and get the delay to as close as possible to the scratch mvp? Noted I will change the hitbox to be a cylinder.

Yes! If you don't think the delay in the Scratch MVP feels right and could be altered, then let me know what value for the delay feels right through the Build notes or add a hotkey that toggles between the two (like you did with the R key, that was exceptionally helpful for this build) so that you can demonstrate what you think feels better!
