Dear Minecraft Weather, Storms & Tornadoes Mod Developers,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to report an issue I've encountered while playing the latest beta version 1.18.2 of the mod. Specifically, I have noticed that the tornado sirens are not functioning correctly, and the wind effect sounds seem to be either absent or inconsistent. I wanted to provide you with detailed feedback on this problem to assist in improving the mod's performance.

Initially, I was thrilled with the immersive and dynamic weather experience your mod provided. The tornado sirens worked flawlessly, serving as an essential warning system to alert me of incoming tornadoes. The accompanying wind effect sounds further heightened the realistic atmosphere, adding depth and immersion to the gameplay. I was truly captivated by the experience during my initial playthrough.

However, the excitement soon turned into disappointment as the tornado sirens and wind effect sounds stopped working properly after subsequent plays or game reloads. The sirens no longer activate, leaving me without any audible cues to anticipate or prepare for approaching tornadoes. This absence of functionality significantly impacts the immersive nature of the mod and hampers my ability to react to dangerous weather events in a timely manner.

Furthermore, I have observed that the wind effect sounds associated with tornadoes and other weather phenomena are either missing entirely or sporadic at best. The consistent presence of wind sounds plays a crucial role in creating a realistic and immersive atmosphere. However, the lack of reliable wind effects detracts from the intended ambiance and diminishes the overall immersion your mod seeks to provide.

I want to emphasize that these issues were not present when I initially installed the mod. The tornado sirens worked perfectly, and the wind effect sounds were consistently present, enhancing the overall experience. Unfortunately, these features seem to have ceased functioning as intended, leading to a less enjoyable gameplay experience.

As an enthusiastic player of the Minecraft Weather, Storms & Tornadoes Mod, I kindly request your attention to this matter. I believe that addressing these issues and restoring the functionality of the tornado sirens and wind effect sounds would greatly improve the immersive and captivating experience your mod offers.

I understand that identifying and resolving bugs can be a challenging task, but I wanted to bring this problem to your attention in the hope that it can be rectified in a future update. I encourage you to take into account the feedback from players encountering similar issues and to consider their experiences when working on enhancements for the mod.

Thank you for your time and dedication to developing this incredible mod. I look forward to future updates that address these concerns, allowing players like myself to fully immerse ourselves in the atmospheric and thrilling weather experiences your mod aims to deliver.

Is it possible to take the old version of the mod and port it to 1.16.5?

ProfessorFartsalot commented 1 year ago

@FL4SHG1 As already commented before, w2r is working on it but it is a slow and painful process.

@Cryptorm I am unable to reproduce this issue, can you try a clean install of minecraft with the latest 1.18.2 forge for starters? And can you use the bundled java version with the microsoft client?

Running on Linux Mint here 21.1 Cinnamon, 5.15.0-100-generic. Java version from terminal: openjdk version "17.0.10" 2024-01-16

Installed fresh instance with MultiMC 5, with latest forge version 40.2.18, no mods other than coroutil-forge-1.18.2-1.3.6 and weather2-1.18.2-2.7.5

Both with default config and modified config I've noticed no wind noise during regular high winds (Edit: Not the storm_highwind, for clarification, but the ambient winds), though the sound files are available through the "/playsound weather2:env.wind_calmfade ambient" command.
