Note about Darkhorse: the Android version of the reader stores its images unencrypted in a place readable by non-root users, but at a casual glance they appear encrypted (the filenames are hash codes). Along with the images it stores a JSON file which tells you what order those hash codes belong in. With only a very small amount of scripting, and no decryption/reverse engineering, it is trivial to convert that raw data into CBZ files - i've backed up every one of my DH books (over 1700 of them) this way. (i won't go into detail about it here, lest DarkHorse get upset and change the format!)
There's a link to a Greasemonkey script for Dark Horse downloads in this thread at MobileRead:
Hi,
Any possibility of it to work on marvel unlimited as well?? i'm gonna have a trip soon and the amounth of offline comics it lets you storage is same as nothing.
Would be great to be able to read it without resoursing to piracy websites.
@thiagobones Hi! I don't have a Marvel Unlimited subscription so I can't test it but if the Unlimited comics can be read on comicstore.marvel.com then it should already work with the current version.
it can't...they have their own website... to access your library, you would need to go to https://www.marvel.com/my_account/my_must_reads/ (login required).
They only let you put 6 comics for offline reading and i'll be over it in last than an hour... still will have to wait a long time with nothing to read...
it seems like i'll be forced to search for somewhere to download it during this trip... that sucks :(
I understand this tool is currently designed with Comixology in mind, but it would be nice to add other sites, like say Dark Horse. I'm still studying the code to see if I can add anything to it, but I have looked at Dark Horse's site and it appears their viewer actually downloads the images to your computer and then clears them when you leave. (I was able to access the full size images using Chrome web tools).
