I like the changes that have been made so far to the site. Here are a few designs that have been mocked up this morning by team here at the birmingham event. Info for new static pages such as "about us" is as follows: Creating an advert? – (HEADING)

Selling a book – Sub Heading

  1. Keep it simple. Enter the ISBN number to auto-populate the books information. (You will find the number on the back of the book).

EG.

(ISBN logo here)

  1. Failing that, enter information about the book, such as the title, author, and edition.
  2. Tell us about the sale: price, condition and the location you are selling it from.
  3. Finished? Click create my advert!

Selling something else – Sub Heading

  1. Input the item category e.g. sports equipment, housing appliances, tickets
  2. Give your item a title, so that people can find your advert.
  3. Tell us about the sale: price, condition and the location you are selling it from.
  4. Finished? Click create my advert!

How it works (Heading)

UniBoard is an online noticeboard for you at your university. It’s free, quick and easy. UniBoard allows you to place adverts online, in one specific place that is easily accessible for others to find.

What’s great, is it works just like a conventional noticeboard:

Because UniBoard is online:

If you’re selling an item you don’t have to worry about:

• Placing the advert in lots of different locations in the hope someone sees’ it • Someone removing, covering up or damaging your advert • The costs associated with paying for an advert

If you’re looking to buy an item, then you don’t have to worry about:

• Spending lots of time physically trying to search for the adverts • Going to different places, collecting and comparing different adverts • Spending lots of money buying brand new items

About UniBoard

At university, you may often ask yourself… what shall I do with last year’s textbooks? Where can I buy a second hand bike to get around campus? How can I search all the adverts at my university? The answer is UniBoard.

Matt Beveridge (Link through to LinkedIn page), a student studying Business with Communications, founded UniBoard in 2013 and has since worked with Brunel University on developing the platform. UniBoard was launched at Brunel University in September 2014.

UniBoard is an online noticeboard that allows you to search, buy and sell stuff, at your local university. It’s an online resource that is free and it also saves you time when searching adverts at your university. UniBoard is a good place to find a local deal and it’s a great way to earn cash for your unwanted items.

@mjb295 - the image you've provided for the front page is >9Mb, which is absolutely huge to include on a front page. If you want to provide us with a smaller one (in terms of bytes) or an web optimised one that would be better, as it's currently causing some lags on page load.

I've implemented the styles and the static pages. I did spot a few typos that I corrected, but it's probably worth having a copy editor take a look at some point in the future.
