We definitely talked this one to death today but I don't think we agreed on what to do about selecting the location on the signup form. Is there a problem with just removing this from the signup flow entirely? If people need to do some amount of verification before actually submitting a host request successfully anyways, I would think we can just enforce this then rather than at the beginning so we don't risk losing signups.

I think we agreed in the meeting that a user needs a location when signing up, we build some features on top of it and we’re now requiring from everyone.

Happy to look into better ways to input it though.

Okay. I didn't remember us saying it was particularly important to happen at signup, but we definitely left things at requiring location to actually participate, regardless of role in the couchers community. Just wanted to make sure we don't leave any stone unturned in addressing signup issues and complaints.

Frankly the location radius is intuitive to me. You said it was removed from signup because it was cluttered before, but I can easily see the radius slider with a explanatory subtitle fitting in the same amount of space that the redundant location input currently sits just below the map. The understanding would then be that the location selected while searching the map is what will be displayed. This is better than the current state of things in my view.
