pre-turn lane misses first regular field row #3053

Closed tjBerlin closed 5 years ago

tjBerlin commented 5 years ago

Hello!

Made a course for the harvester with pre-turn beginning south-west of field 21 on FELSBRUNN. Harvester does the pre-turn, but, as you can see in the screeshoot, the first regular row down is starting in the north-west of the field.

So harvester stops in the south-west, I guess thinking, field is done, because there is no fruit to harvest.

Using CP version .00018.

Please confirm that you are using the old course generator (have not generated the course from the Advanced Course Gen screen).

Also, can you post a savegame and this course?

tjBerlin commented 5 years ago

On first attempt i can't confirm that, I used new one.

So tried the old cg, same issues, starting sw in direction n, one pre-turn

The lanes are the same, but the harvester just drives it the second time, still harvesting.

Do you still need savegame and course?

pvaiko commented 5 years ago

Let's start with a log, debug channels 12 and 14 maybe I see something in there.

BTW, that must be the old one, I don't generate 45 degree corners. Can you post a screenshot of the course gen for this course?

tjBerlin commented 5 years ago

Yes, the second attempt was the old one.

Now, the third attempt: bildschirmfoto 2019-01-31 um 14 53 24

The harvester does the first pre-turn lane two times. But he does it... ;)

This is the same issue that #2962 is describing.. it happens in all fieldwork courses containing a headland that doubles over itself in the transition from rows to headland or from headland to rows. If you stop and then 'drive from current waypoint' or backup and 'drive from nearest waypoint' the tractor will successfully choose the correct path

pvaiko commented 5 years ago

I made an attempt to fix it just forgot to push, give it a try with 20 and report back.

pvaiko commented 5 years ago

BTW, you'll get better results if you start the course somewhere in the middle further away from the corners.

sootysax commented 5 years ago

this seems to be working much better now..

tjBerlin commented 5 years ago

Yes, much better. Harvester takes the first pre-turn lane without harvesting. Thank you!

I'm still having issues with this... fsscreen_2019_01_31_15_14_18 fsscreen_2019_01_31_15_14_31 fsscreen_2019_01_31_15_17_50

Just give me a clue: what is the problem?

It doesn't look that the spreader is working. CP driver just drives on the right outside lane, or?

sootysax commented 5 years ago

The spreader works until it reaches the start point on the headland, where it is supposed to drive along the headland to where the first row starts, but it reaches that point and stops.

tjBerlin commented 5 years ago

Right. I just tried some other vehicles and had one time the same issue. But I couldn't reproduce it, when I turned on debug channel.

tjBerlin commented 5 years ago

Ok... now it is getting a bit crazy: The CP driver stops at the starting point of the headline or better just after the trun, if you are not in the vehicle. It must be around waypoint 126, it is the Fendt 1050.

Here is the log with debug 12 and 14. log.txt

@sootysax can you point me out the part of the log where it stopped? I can't find it, it seems to be moving all the time. @tjBerlin like in your log it is absolutely clear that it stopped, also you can see the 'Speed = 20' messages, meaning that CP wants it to drive with 20km/h but for whatever reason it does not want to. Gotta ask Giants about this.

I dunno, I had two vehicles running at the time.. I can do it again on another course - it's not hard to reproduce.

pvaiko commented 5 years ago

@sootysax as with #3064, the relevant part of the log is missing.

sootysax commented 5 years ago

I have confirmed that this is similar to #3064 in that it only is happening when you are outside of the vehicle. The vehicle will stop and shut engine down at junctions between headland and rows when tabbed out or stepped out of the vehicle. When in the vehicle, course continues as normal. This is easily reproducable.

Fogest commented 5 years ago

@sootysax I noticed the same issue. It didn't happen all the time so I was wondering what was going on. It turns out it was what you describe, when not in the vehicle it seems to simply stop almost as if the course is finished when it finishes the headland. I look forward to trying out the new CP version to see if it is fixed as I see a recent commit referencing this issue! You should test it as well.
