Hi, I need to know something about the WordPress and BuddyPress version you use. Also, did you update your permalink structure after installing Courseware?
Thanks.
I have Wordpress 3.2.1 and Buddypress 1.3-bleeding. my permalink structure is set to //%postname%/
Please visit the BuddyPress pages tab and check if every component uses a separate page. Also, change the //%postname%/
permalink structure to something like /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
there are conflict problems reported with the structure you are using.
i still have the 404 error after multiple tries. what if i have courseware on a different site using wordpress MU, would that work
I have similiar problem with courseware "master" version/BP1.29/WP3.2. Click "Edit Course" button or "New Assignment" on BP Front will go to HomePage. Also, after create/edit things in WP backend and click "View Post" , will go to HomePage. I changed permarlink to /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/, the problem still there.
Maybe it's the Group ID confusing things. Is this a Group tag? If it's a Group tag, after create a tag, I don't see anywhere it applied on a group. Maybe that's why WP can't find the url.
I can't reproduce this with latest BuddyPress (1.3-bleeding) and Courseware (0.9).
@imjjss, as I already said, latest Courseware is not compatible with BuddyPress 1.2.9, don't even try installing it.
@issonz try a clean install. Activate BuddyPress, than Courseware. Worked for me!
I installed BP1.3, the same problem. Now I installed BP1.5 beta2, the problem still there. After enabled Courseware, Messages says "You can manage this group Courseware", with a button of " Update course information". When click the button, it goes to "Page not found". By the way, after enabled courseware, there's not courseware tabs can be seen, can only see an " Update course information" button.
Hmm, did you enable the Courseware before using it? http://scholarpress.github.com/buddypress-courseware/handbook.html#configuration
Yes, I followed the normal steps on the Admin settings page. First test was done without enable courseware globally, and enabled in group admin page. Second test was done with courseware enabled globally after re-activated courseware plugin. Both got result of an " Update course information" button.above group nav-items tab. Click this botton goes to "Page not found". There's no way to use courseware.
I downloaded and installed the newest scholarpress-buddypress-courseware-0.1.6-95-g1b93011 , still "Page Not Found".
You downloaded 0.1.6, that is visible from the download name. Just download the master branch, it is not tagged (don't download tags, those are old releases)!
On the Source page, with Master checked, click Download button, it gives choices of .tar.gz and .zip, I downloaded the .zip and got the 0.1.6. I didn't choose the tagged packages listed below the 2 choices.
If download from buddypress forum the link you gave to beta-testors, also got the 0.16
Hmm, no, it should be fine. What's the BP version you are using? Can you join me on IRC?
Btw, people were asking me about a WordPress/BuddyPress/Courseware bundle with unreleased versions, so I compiled a zip.
You can try it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20301790/cw.zip
Thanks, I will try the bundle. Currently I'm using BP1.5 beta2, but this issue goes along with several previous versions since I started trying the new BPSP. I don't have IRC software installed, if there's a web version of IRC, I sure would go there talk directly.
Edit: I can't try the bundle, dropbox access is blocked in my region.
all of the courseware pages on my site has a 404 error on the page(i am using Courseware 1.0). can i please get help on this issue
Thanks
