RTL channels broken #180

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

(formality as requested)

It seems that RTL has made some changes on their website. You can load all
channel information, but when going into a chapter of any kind of program,
it doesn´t start playing any of those anymore.

it seems they scramble their newly added chapters, or they use a different way
of
streaming, which XBMC on Linux does not understand.

It looks like all chapters after the update on their website, suffer from this
issue.
Old ones still work.

what do you mean with scrambled?

I've been testing a bit further but it seems the most popular programs
are "scrambled". I've attached you some pics with some popular programs where I
see
this "issue" (programs which I can imagine a lot lady's would like watch if
they
miss a chapter xD)

RTL nieuws goes fine, and some other less popular programs too (bouwval gezocht
etc).

Did you know, you have to pay to watch CSI for example? I obviously didn't ;)

Cheerio,
Martijn

It's the DRM (Digital Right Management) that RTL uses. It's not supported by
XBMC and
that is why you get this scrambled image.

Although I would really like to fix it, I just can't. XOT finds the correct
URL, but
XBMC doesn't (and probably will never) support playing it.

I would like to confirm this issue, i also have these problems watching most
RTL
shows, i am looking for 3 days now to resolve this but i guess it is not
possible.
If XBMC would support silverlight or moonlight we could use that i think...
