Well, the first version is using id3v1, so there was room for a little
comment... But
i would probably be more useful if the comment was something like: Recorded
from My
Radio Station... Or what ever name last.fm gives the station...
But there weren't any space for larger comments in id3v1, perhaps I'll change
it when
moving to id3v3 this summer... A lot of changes have been planed, so if I can
find
the time... The next release is going to be very different...

That would be great, but *PLEASE* make these comments optional!

Comments haven't been made optional, perhaps that will happen sometime in the
future.
But now they have been changed to make more sense, the new ID3v2 comments are:
Recorded with TheLastRipper from <radio station>
Where <radio station> was the station they were recored from e.g: My Playlist.

I would like the stamping actually.. if it gets imported into iTunes somehow?

For an open source application, isn't it a bit idiotic to not let the user
decide
whether some silly promotional stamping should be there or not??? (It is of
course
even more idiotic on a pay-ware application - that REALLY pisses me off, and is
a
sure "no fucking way" dealbreaker. On an open source app, one can at least fork
it to
get rid of the lame comment.)
Isn't there a place to put the "ripping application" or at least "encoding
application"? You could stick it there.
But at ANY RATE, it should be possible to just turn off this, or customize it.
You
could have a field in the GUI where one could write up what should be there,
with
placeholders. So per default, the "embed comment" checkbox was clicked, and the
field
would read "Ripped with TheLastRipper from $RADIO_STATION$". Then users could
uncheck
the box if they didn't want this field to be touched, or change the text if
wanted.
