Version 1.4.1 using ubuntu hardy/intrepid #190

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Description of the issue:
Compilation of version 1.4.1 for ubuntu 8.04 (hardy) and 8.10 (jaunty) does
not work without tweaking the thelastripper-1.4.1/debian/control-file

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. download and unpack the 1.4.1 source-code
2. run "./configure", "make" etc
3. no success...

What is the expected output?
The package can be build be removing "mono-devel" form the "Build depends"
in thelastripper-1.4.1/debian/control, and replacing it with
"mono-2.0-devel" dnd "mono-gmcs".

Only drawback: the covers arn't shown in the playerwindow anymore, even
though they are saved to the harddisk.

See http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/post/2192700/ (german) for more details.

Hi!

Found out about the Mono-Version: all packages have nummer
1.2.6-dsfg-6ubuntu3.1., so
it should be Mono 1.2.6, shoundn't it? ;-)

The lack of covers in the mainwindow might be a bug... :)

By the way, if you're building TheLastRipper for older Ubuntu releases you're
are
welcome to post them here if you would like to see them distributed from our
download
page...

Note: the biggest change in 1.4.1 from 1.4.0 is that it no doesn't include a
binary
version of taglib-sharp, instead it depends on the package... Previously, it
wasn't
in the package manager so this might give issues with some older distros...

Hi!

I build my own version for jaunty (excluding the download of the cover.jpgs
since I
don't need them); in that 9.04-version they are shown in the playerwindow; so
there's
got to be some mixup with the older kernel/packages used in hardy...

I was able to build a hardy-package using the "old-fashioned" way with
"./configure", "make", "sudo checkinstall", after ./configure complained (as you
wrote) about taglib-sharp missing; it compiled fine after I installed
libtag1-dev and
libtaglib2.0-cil...

The issue with the missing dependencies was encountered when using "prevu"
trying to
build packages for hardy/intrepid; but not by me - I just volunteered to
publish the
issue here.

I could upload the hardy/intrepid packages from the forum.ubuntuusers.de-site I
linked; but those don't display covers, so I don't know if you want those...
