[Bug] Checking Saved Chapters #100

Open Codemonkey03 opened 3 years ago

Noboru has been great for months. Today I went to use it and had a weird hiccup when starting the app and noticed none of my saved manga had any downloaded chapters even though I've downloaded every chapter in every series. I closed the app, restarted the vita and now when I try to launch Noboru it says "Checking saved chapters" during its boot and never actually launches. Just stays stuck right on that message.

can you send me some files from noboru folder? i need your: save.dat settings.ini c.c

Creckeryop commented 3 years ago

also maybe you've removed Sony card? or changed some settings?

I didn't remove the memory card, my Vita is a 2000 so I don't even have a Sony card in there. Just an SD2Vita. Didn't change any settings. The only thing that I did was started the default music player before starting Noboru and I had a weird hang-up during Noboru launch.

I finally got the app to launch after a couple restarts. My saved manga are there and my read chapters are marked but none of them are linked to their downloads anymore even though I downloaded all of them previously. The Noboru folder is 250mb. I don't know what it was before, so I'm not sure if my downloaded manga is still there or if it all got wiped.

Creckeryop commented 3 years ago

Sorry man, it's all wiped i think. Only Imported manga saved. Sorry for this trouble. I don't know why it happened. Noboru while loading checks all saved directories, and if Noboru can't find folder or it's broken, Noboru edits save data, and removes all broken directories. There was read error, maybe. To disable that option you need to enable SkipCacheChapterChecking, but i see that you already enabled it in your settings.ini. So it's just read/write error. I can't do anything with that, maybe if i will do a backup or somethink like fail-safe feature.

Please don't save so much manga. Please sorry again for that happening.

I will try to make something like backup thing in future updates (that prevents saved chapters to be removed).

Let me know if you ever come up with a back up feature. This is the third time its happened to me and redownloading it all takes tens of hours to do through the Vita.

I have been having this issue as well, but the difference is I have a 1000. Don't know if that matters or not but it should be mentioned. The issue just started today and I have uninstalled and reinstalled Noboru two times, restarted the app multiple times, and rebooted my system multiple times. I am still stuck on the checking saved chapters screen. Now I know not to download so many chapters I guess but is there anything I can do to fix this? Do I need to send my settings.ini file?

Edit: I don't know if it is due to my reinstallation, but I thought I would locate the files you had mentioned earlier in VitaShell to try and prepare for if I do need them, but I cannot find save.dat, settings.ini, nor c.c.

Creckeryop commented 2 years ago

Honestly i still don't know why this thing is happening

TheRealGrord commented 2 years ago

Do you have any recommendations of what to do? I found out I was looking in the wrong spot for settings.ini, save.dat, and c.c and have them now. Do you want me to send those? Should I just delete the whole ux0:data/noboru/ folder and then try reinstalling? Should I try to open the chapters folder and delete whatever is in it?

Creckeryop commented 2 years ago

Can you send me them please? i really can't do anything with that right now, i don't have enough info about reason of this bug.

Creckeryop commented 2 years ago

maybe you can send me whole noboru folder?

Creckeryop commented 2 years ago

it will be much easier to find bug, if i can cause that bug on my console, and with some debug code repair it
