as mentioned previously, I don't the numerous checks. It sounds like we're second-guessing the user. They should be able to create a folder named however they want it (including ab or qit, which are forbidden for the now)
the dir.create() check creates breadcrumbs in the tests. Figure out if this test is necessary / can be done another way. If not, remove the breadcrumbs
