3 years ago My goal was 1) Create a front end review form to allow visitors to leave testimonials for my offline services 2) Display the submitted testimonials on the home page. This was literally impossible to accomplish. Pls note the goal is not to have the reviews on each service page but a customer testimonials section that can be added to any page on the site so other site visitors can see the testimonials.
Other suggestions to make this valuable Credits to: Koen Van Oorschot This will improve jetreviews a lot:
- Separate widget to add review (so you can use it where and how you want).
- The ability to pull all data from a review dynamically to create a listing with jetengine to display the reviews.
- The ability to do calculations with all reviews to [get an average rating of the testimonials]

Trying out jetReviews for the first time and found some major usability flaws: 1) lack of recaptcha literally means spammers may find a field day if you dare to enable guest reviews even with the admin approval configured. 2) Review listing template is literarily hardcoded meaning that you are stuck with just design changes but no option to customize the layout. For example, if you are planning to hide or move elements on the page around, you are out of luck. In my case, I didn't want the # of reviews nor the time of review displayed. 3) Review details is hidden by default. I am pretty sure most site visitors looking at the review may not know they need to click the Details label to reveal the review ratings. At least, why not allow us to change the label to a more descriptive call to action label so we can easily direct users to click to reveal the review info or even add a collapse/expand button so users know what to do to hide or reveal the details
