Suggestion Add an option for beams to be rendered with some transparency. It should look better when additive blending is used in OpenGL (see link for info on types of blending)

Current Behavior [Optional] Beams are fully opaque.

Justification Look nice. This feature may or may not be an elaborate bribe.
