Option to indicate you were previously infected

Perhaps an extra button that allows you to indicate this.

This could be useful for a number of reasons:

• Offer any useful related advice
• In a scenario where exposures are submitted back to authorities, this information could prove useful

It seems likely though that previously infected users are less likely to feel the need to use contact tracing apps.

This could be useful if there is a window of being still infectious even after feeling better. I’m guessing that affected patients need an all clear from medical staff before they can stop isolating but I’m not certain on all the details and when someone who has had it can re-enter the community. Participants probably should be able to submit evidence of recovery if they previously had it. I was thinking if you downloaded the app and you had it in the past, you’d probably still want to indicate it. “I have COVID-19” may not quite fit. A button that says “I had COVID-19” or “Update COVID-19 status” might be helpful. I’m not sure if it would be suitable to alert folk they came into contact with someone who was previously positive in case it still posed a small risk. Maybe that’s unreasonable as it’s info that doesn’t need to be shared if someone is recovered. Would have to consult medical professionals.
