10 months ago In this current POC the contract can mint new tokens to to account for loss in purchasing power. This was done as a final project for my Fintech certificate and Coinbase announced basically the exact copy of my concept over a year later, calling them "flat coins" I, don't have a patent or a vast team of high profile lawyers, unfortunately :D
Does the total supply get reduced on an increase change in CPI? Is there an alternative way to calculate CPI? Many top economists disagree with how simplified a metric this is. It doesn't cover how dynamic the value of the dollar is between cities, towns, states, and regions. Gas prices. Supply chain effects. Would be fun to model!
