Users (possibly registered members only) should have the option to define the maximum they are willing to bid
as well as how much to outbid the opposing bid by. (Optional)
Example:
Starting bid is $1
User A defines his maximum bid as $32 and raise as $1
User B Bids $2
Because User A defined his max bid as $32, the system automatically places a bid with his name for the last bid + his raise price.
The price then goes up to $3 until another bid is made.
User B bids $32 and no automatic bid is placed as the bid is higher than User A's maximum allowed + raise price
On a different bid starting at $1, if User A defines the max bid as $50 and raise price as $5 then User B also sets a max bid, but at $30 with a raise of $1, then the system automatically places a bid for USer B at $30, and then a second bid from User A at $35
Additional features:
Users may check a box when defining their max bid to be notified by email when their max bid has been outbid, as well as a link to raise it.
When a user visits the bidding page, an information box shows up below the auction box telling the user what his bid was placed at in case he had forgotten. this information is only visible to him.
On the home page, below the current bid could be a space where users can see the max price they had set for that auction.
